Saint of March 5th

Hello, today's saint is Saint Bartholomew. He was a disciple of Jesus and is in three of the gospels and possibly all of them (but under a different name in John's). He and Saint Philip helped spread the holy word over and over in Arabia, Mesopotamia and maybe as far as India. In Armenia he was flayed alive and as if that wasn't enough he was also crucified and beheaded. He is the patron saint of everyone who works with animal skins because he was skinned. He can be seen in art holding a knife, his skin or seem red because of the skinning. Sometimes art will show him being skinned.
He is very popular in art and I have seen him in multiple museums and churches.
