Saint Agatha

St. Agatha lived in the 300s. Some of the stories about her may be false. She lived in Sicily and was a virgin. The governor attempted to seduce her and condemned her to a brothel after she denied him. She miraculously kept her virginity. Then she was tortured. Her breasts were ripped off with pincers. After that St. Peter came to her and healed her. Finally she was put over hot coals and while she was burning earthquakes happened.she protects people from earthquakes, lightning, fire, volcanoes, and breast deseases. In art she can be seen with her breasts on a plate, carrying pincers or shears, holding a blazing building, or during her torture or right after. I got my info from the gallery companion.
